Automata is building a world-class company and disrupting the automation industry with Eva, the first low cost high functioning Industrial Automation Robot.
We’re changing perceptions that robotic technology is expensive and complex and we’re redefining what it is to ‘work’ by empowering people to automate physical work.
Testing is an integral part of our culture and operations. We’re looking for a Technician with a technical or engineering background who shares our passion and helps us achieve our ambitions by playing a key role in facilitating lifetime and prototype testing for our Robot, Eva.
Why is this role important for Automata?
We test our products. We test everyday. We test to make our products better. As a technician in this area you will be at the heart of us learning how to make our product more functional, last longer and deliver better value to our customers by making sure our testing programs are completed as planned.
This role sits within the Deliver team and is focused on completing the commissioning and configuration of existing test equipment on our Robot. You’ll be running checks and calibrations before testing, adding test loads and running test plans, gathering and recording data, and working with the engineers to feedback results.
In this role, you will be
- Placing Robots on Lifetime test: including loading test tool paths, attaching test loads, measurement probes and calibration checks
- Downloading test logs and data files to be emailed for analysis
- Reporting error codes and events on test logs
- Basic tear-down and inspection to confirm pre-existing faults and failure modes.
- Communicating findings to Robot Production Engineers.
- Construction of prototypes under the direction of Design Engineers
- Setup and configuration of test equipment
- Procurement of equipment and supply chain support
You might also be doing this
- May be required to assist with the processing of packages to be sent to production facilities
- May be required to assist the Service team in testing/repairing Robots to be shipped to customers depending on work prioritisation
- Help with receiving and tracing materials sent into the Deliver Team
- Help in supporting production issues with our primary assembler
What it takes
- Minimum college level qualification to NVQ or higher in technical or engineering subjects
- Relevant work experience and ability to demonstrate a positive attitude, and the ability to work to direction
- High attention to detail and a passion for clean, organised and tidy work practices
- Good hands-on Mechanical skills and demonstration of practical ability with hand tools
- Clear communication with a good level of written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer skills, electrical understanding and an ability to run scripts and applications under guidance
- Ability to complete basic reports using standard templates and identify parts and assemblies from SOP instructions and drawings
- Ability to understand and interpret basic engineering drawings and documentation
What gets us excited?
We’re passionate about the future of Technology and Robotics and our growing success is built upon like minded individuals who share our passion.
We would love to hear from candidates with a growth mindset and who have any relevant experiences with the construction/maintenance/repair of small electromechanical [computers/music equipment] or automotive assemblies.
Experience of Arduino/Raspberry Pi projects, or an understanding of Basic Python would also be a bonus!
Get in touch!
If this sounds like a good fit and you have relevant work experience and the appetite for a role in Robotics then please get in touch.
Please note however this is a permanent technician role and we’re only interested in connecting with those who are genuinely interested in taking ownership of this role for a significant period of time. it’s not a gateway at this time for quick progression into other core engineering teams.
Unfortunately we are not able to offer sponsorship for candidates outside the EU for this role.
