This Project Quality Engineer role is an exciting opportunity to become involved in a technological advancement that is benefitting thousands around the world, with this number growing. This role will help us accelerate the product development process and support the business in achieving a fast turnaround of releases.

Why is this role important for Automata?

As you will be supporting the product development from prototype stage to final certification you will ensure that Automata identifies and addresses risks early in the process, therefore building quality in the products.

This is an exciting role as you will be managing the PPAP process across several projects ranging from Mechanical designs to SCARA, with each of them bringing their own challenges.

In this role, you will be

• The owner of the PPAP process - manage and perform PPAP’s internally and at suppliers

• Working on Design, Production, and Integration FMEA’s

• Contributing and supporting changes during product development

• Coordinating QA/QC activities with the development team (meetings, product validations etc.)

• Creating Quality Tools (i.e. Process Maps, Control Plans, Checklists etc)

• Guiding development team towards accurate and repeatable inspection methods

• Ensuring Traceability and Data records are at the core of the product

• Carrying out problem solving activities

• Working closely with Quality, Testing and Compliance

• Provide support during Testing phase to assist both development and production teams

What it takes :

Essential Skills

• Strong knowledge and experience in applying APQP/PPAP

• Great problem-solving skills

• Proven experience in developing new processes to assist with product validation

• Experience in New Product Development

• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects

Desirable Skills

• Technical background in mechanical and/or electrical engineering

• Ability to work with cross-functional teams

• Solid Works PDM and ISO 9001 experience

• Great verbal and communication skills

• Experience in Quality or Project Execution function
