With our expanding team in the United States, we are seeking a dedicated HR Business Partner based in Boston to support our U.S. operations and contribute to the strength and development of our Global team.
Why is this role important at Automata?
As the HR Business Partner for our U.S. operations, you wil report into the Head of People, creating cohesion between the operational strategies of the UK and the U.S., ensuring compliance with local employment laws, and enhancing employee engagement and satisfaction. You will be responsible for managing employment contracts, implementing company policies, administering benefits and 401(k) plans, and serving as the primary liaison with the JustWorks platform for all HR-related activities.
You will be responsible for:
Develop and manage employment contracts across various U.S. states, ensuring full compliance with both federal and state-specific labor laws and regulations.
Align U.S. employment contracts with the company's core values and principles.
In collaboration with the global HR team, adapt policies within the U.S. operations, ensuring they reflect the organization's ethos and comply with U.S. legal standards.
Conduct annual salary and benefits benchmarking activities.
Manage the JustWorks platform, ensuring an optimal partnership that supports streamlined HR and benefits administration processes, including payroll, benefits administration, compliance checks, and updates.
Oversee all aspects of the company's 401(k) plan offerings, ensuring they are managed effectively through the JustWorks platform.
Leverage JustWorks to oversee health coverage offerings including selection of insurance plans, negotiation of premiums, and resolution of employee inquiries or issues.
Proactively stay updated on evolving federal and state employment laws and regulations, leveraging JustWorks and other resources for timely compliance checks and updates.
Collaborate with legal counsel to navigate and resolve complex employment law matters, ensuring risk mitigation and adherence to all regulatory requirements.
Facilitate a seamless onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they are effectively integrated into the company culture.
Manage the U.S. employee lifecycle from onboarding through to exit, ensuring a consistent and positive employee experience that aligns with the company's values and operational goals.
Work closely with various departments and the global HR team to ensure HR strategies and initiatives are effectively communicated and implemented across the U.S. operations.
Act as a partner to managers, providing guidance and support on HR-related matters, including workforce planning, employee relations, and performance management.
What it takes:
Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or similar role within a multi-state operation in the U.S., ideally within the tech sector.
Comprehensive understanding of U.S. employment laws and regulations, with a track record of ensuring company compliance.
Experience managing employment contracts, benefits, and 401(k) plans.
Familiarity with HR platforms, preferably JustWorks, and the ability to leverage technology to streamline HR processes.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across different levels of the organization.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
